As the Co-star of this film my opinion may seem a bit bias but I have seen a few attempts by people to capture this process and this is by far the best yet. This type of work (full sleeves, full backs etc.) is the cutting edge of tattooing today and it is great that Ryan took the time to document it so nicely! We're starting his back soon....so maybe we'll be lucky enough to get a part 2!

This was definitely a great movie, but I don't think it warranted a perfect score. I think it was a tad long - there just seemed to be some stuff that could have been left out, keeping the focus on the main plot.

Four out of five? This has to be one of the best movies of 2007. I'd give it 5 out of 5. I yearn for more movies like this one.

As the producer/director of Sleeve I just want to thank Filmmuser.com for the critique. I appreciate the compliments and the constructive criticism.

This review further proves Filmmuser is one of the best movie review sites online. Look through the posts and you see a full range from major releases to foreign films to documentaries and now small indy docs.

After seeing both of these films, I think I agree that this was the better of the two.

It really is a very powerful movie. I think as good as documentary filmmaking gets.

My opinion is that it was unfortunate that this movie was not recognized with the Oscar. The winner, An Inconvinient Truth, had so much visibility and high profile that it would have been very difficult for any other doc to win over it. On the merits of filmmaking though I think this is a much stronger film.

Understood. I am just trying to say that in the given state of U.S. democracy this has no impact on what you end up with a government.

The movie doesn't look at the legal problems with the election. It looks at the field campaigns in Ohio by both parties and the different approaches taken by them. The Democrats themselves speak of their disorganization in Ohio and how they didn't have a common goal along party lines, as the Republicans did.

I will check this movie out but I really have to take exception to any implication that the 2004 election was won due to an organized Republican campaign and a disorganized democratic party.

I am not saying this in any way as a defense of the democratic party and am sure that the movie is accurate in portraying that the republicans may have stuck to message better, encouraged registered voters, etc.

U.S. elections between only 2 parties which effectively share the same message are not won by 'campaining to the people'. They are won by corporate fundraising, avoiding discussions of serious issues, encouraging voter apathy, and the list goes on.

Like I said haven't seen it and my points may be on a tangent but based on your review I am concerned.
